Sustainable Creativity
Slayley Studios is an eco-friendly, live-in Arts Hub in The Peak District. Our goal is to encourage and enable Sustainable Creativity within the Arts.
We aren’t any old luxury wellness retreat. We are an opportunity to dedicate all your time to expressing yourself, whether it’s through writing, creating a show, recording an album or workshopping ideas. Think of the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as a cheeky extra.
The Cottage
Woodside Cottage is where we had many a happy childhood memory which makes it all the more special to be able to share it with the rest of the world. It’s a farm house vibe without the farmhouse animals. We have 3 bedrooms upstairs. One more private, for 1-2 people. And the other two cater for groups that are willing to bunk together. Downstairs we have a cosy living room, a renovated kitchen and our favourite, the conservatory.
The Studios
Currently we have two studios. One is a converted garage recording studio, perfect for musicians and voice actors to write, experiment and record their material. The other is a small breakout space, perfect for workshops and for writers to get their ideas off the page. One of our goals is to expand the breakout space to make it a fully functional rehearsal space.
The Goal
Our end goal is to make Slayley Studios 100% renewable energy efficient. This means solar panels, a renewable energy supplier, a permaculture garden, locally sourced food, a no plastic policy…the list goes on.
